BIOGRAPHY
Jonathan W. Hils has received a number of recognitions for his work and has presented six solo exhibitions and participated in over forty group exhibitions across the country in the past decade. Notable recent solo exhibitions include the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the New England School of Art & Design in Boston, MA.
The grand prize recipient of the 2010 TX/OK Artprize competition, the 2009 City of Hamilton Outdoor Sculpture Competition, and the 21st Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Competition in 2007, Hils has also received the 2005 Oklahoma Visual Art Coalition's Artist Fellowship Award and he was selected for the John Michael Kohler artist residency in 2005. His work has been featured at the International Sculpture Center (ISC), and reviewed in reVIEW Magazine, Southwest ArtMagazine, Sculpture Magazine (China), and Art Focus Oklahoma Magazine.
His works are included in the collections of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Wichita Falls Museum of Art, and the Chattahoochie Valley Art Museum. He's also represented in a number of private and corporate collections internationally including the Four Seasons, Hyatt Corporation, Hilton Corporation, Tysons Galleria (VA), Equity West Investment Partners (CO), and the John Michael Kohler Art Center. Most recently, he's completed public art projects for the City of Norman and the San Diego Port Authority.
